If you want to add texture to your autumn looks, suede skirts are the way to go this season, and Clodagh McKenna agrees. Spotted on Lorriane, she wore a playful fringe tan midi skirt, styled with a cream knitted top, so chic.

Suede has become one of the defining textures of the autumn/winter fashion trends 2026, but whilst jackets and boots are the pieces we most associate with the fabric, a skirt is a surprisingly versatile way to embrace it. Tan or camel suede acts as a neutral, meaning you can pair them with everything from ivory knitwear to busy printed blouses.

Clodagh paired her sold-out Free People fringe skirt with a no longer available Bamford ivory knitted top, which contrasted beautifully with the skirt. It's such an easy formula to recreate; simply add heeled boots or even trainers, and you have the perfect autumn outfit idea.

A suede skirt has a tactile finish that will add depth to your outfits, and you can play around with it when styling it, too. For contrast, try adding patent leather boots or an extra-fluffy knit – as the juxtaposed fabric textures will create an eye-catching look. If you want to freshen up your smart-casual outfits, this is a formula worth noting down.
