Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes and now Alexa Chung - this £295 coat has serious celebrity appeal

It's been sitting in my shopping basket for weeks, but now I'm convinced

It's the high street coat that's been on my wishlist for a while now, but Alexa Chung looking the epitome of chic in Notting Hill this week has finally got me heading to the checkout.

Both Sienna Miller and Katie Holmes wore versions of the ALIGNE George coat last year, and the brand has brought it back with a trending twist for 2026. This time around, the smart wool longline coat features a detachable faux fur collar, and as Alexa proves, it will make even the simplest jeans outfit look impossibly glamorous.

With celebrity credentials like these, it's well worth the £295 investment. Alexa's grey version is available to buy in UK sizes 4 to 22, and it's also up for grabs in classic navy or black. The tie belt waist gives you a flattering silhouette, and the cuff detail only adds to the elevated feel. I honestly think it's one of the best winter coats I've seen on the high street for years - and clearly Alexa, Sienna and Katie all agree!

Alexa styled her coat with a pair of light blue straight-leg jeans, adding heeled black pumps, a Louis Vuitton shoulder bag and a pair of black sunglasses. It would look just as stylish paired with tailoring, and what I particularly love about this coat is the chic grey colour.

It can be so tempting to buy black thinking it works with everything, but it can feel a little severe. Grey offers a much softer alternative, but is just as versatile, and will work with all the autumn/winter fashion colour trends 2026.

If British clothing brand ALIGNE isn't already on your radar, it's quickly becoming a go-to for elevated contemporary style. £295 might be a smidge more than you were hoping to pay for your new winter coat, but when you consider the cost-per-wear of this piece (which you'll be getting out of your wardrobe for years to come), I think you'll come to the same conclusion as me - it's worth snapping up before it inevitably sells out.
