If you are up to date with last night's episode of The Celebrity Traitors, you will have seen Claudia's latest look delivered by her stylist Sinead McKeefry. In a sharp trouser suit, she confirms tailoring is the best way to embrace one of this season's most loved shades – chocolate brown.

One of the key autumn/winter colour trends 2026, this rich earthy shade is everywhere. From leather outerwear to eveningwear dresses, it is a warmer alternative to black whilst still feeling polished and sophisticated. For a particularly chic way to embrace it, you can't go wrong with a well-cut trouser suit.

Claudia's exact suit is from Barrington Ayre and is made from a chocolate brown tweed. Underneath her blazer, she wears a crisp white shirt from ME+EM, and to finish, fringe-detail loafers from Church's. She adds a pop of colour to the look with mustard socks and a matching satin tie.

One of the great things about investing in one of the best trouser suits is how versatile they are. Wear the two pieces together for a smart outing, or throw the blazer over a colourful jumper and jeans for a casual day out. Tailored trousers also come in handy through the colder season; if you want to look put together in a hurry, they complement silky blouses or shirts.

Although it's often tempting to shop tailoring in black or navy, chocolate brown is a much more interesting alternative. Plus, the shade also works so well with most autumn neutrals, including camel, navy, burgundy, and cream, as well as more vibrant shades such as crimson or mustard yellow.
