Why you can trust Woman & Home
Evelyn & Bobbie is an American brand that has gained a growing UK fanbase since launching the Defy Bra at John Lewis last year. Their reputation for designing the most comfortable bras has led them to develop a new style specifically for women with smaller backs and a larger bust.
The result of 33 months of development, more than 100 fittings and feedback from 119 women, the Busty Non-Wired bra is set to shake up the bra world. It boasts two new patented technologies: EB FlexTech™ offers a flexible bra band which stays put all day, and EB Core+™, the sling that can support larger busts and replaces the need for underwire.

I wear a size 32FF, so I am always on the lookout for the best bras for big busts. I usually wear a full-cup bra to give me the level of support I need, but these bras are often lacy, with lots of seams, and can look bulky under clothes. Certain tops, like tightly fitting T-shirts or silky blouses, require a more practical option, and much like the best shapewear, a moulded bra provides the solution.
I often find that basic T-shirt bras lack the support I need, so I was keen to test the technology Evelyn & Bobbie have developed. I was instantly attracted to the promise of separation between the bust, which isn't something you ordinarily find with bralet designs that compress the bust into shape. I usually wear a size 32FF, and after consulting the online size chart, I ordered size Medium. I wore the bra for a week, under a variety of tops. I considered the level of support it provided and how comfortable it felt throughout the day - here's what I thought.

Evelyn & Bobbie Busty Non-Wired Bra: Shape & design
This bra is a hybrid of a regular T-shirt bra and a less-structured bralet. It has a traditional clasp fastening at the back, with 4 rows of hooks and eyes to give flexibility of fit and the ability to tighten the bra as it stretches over time. The front of the bra is seam-free, soft and smooth. It also has generous back panels, making it a great option if you're looking for bras to banish back fat.
Inside the bra, you'll find small slits in the fabric to remove the cups and evidence of the B Core+™ patented technology, a firmer structural component that supports and lifts the bust. The flexible straps are an inch wide and adjustable. Unlike other non-wired bras I've tested, this style has a strip of firmer support between the cups, which works to separate the bust and avoid the mono-boob effect.
Evelyn & Bobbie Busty Non-Wired Bra: Support & Fit
I tested this bra in a size M+, colour Himalayan Salt.
This bra wasn't the easiest to put on - I struggled to do up the clasp at the back as the hooks and eyes are so smooth against the fabric that they were hard to navigate. After researching the reviews, I learnt that customers had opted to do up the bra first and then step into it, a method that worked well for me.

The bra fitted very firmly at first (I felt that the band was too tight), but the brand suggests wearing it three times to allow the fabric to mould to your body, and I found this to be correct. This bra provided me with a firm level of support throughout the day, with no bouncing when walking around. The bra completely covers the breast tissue with a medium level of compression. There was no overspill at the cups or underarms.
Evelyn & Bobbie Busty Non-Wired Bra: Comfort
The Busty Bra has removable cups
This wire-free design is very comfortable to wear. I found it to be flexible and easy to move in, with no digging in. The firm band and under-cup technology worked to support my bust throughout the day. The fabric is moisture-wicking and has anti-odour technology, which was tested to the limit over the summer heatwave.
One negative point to note was that the longer-line underband had a tendency to curl up when I was sitting at my desk, but this could be because I am slightly short-waisted (with a few rolls of belly fat!) and may not be a problem for other wearers. The bra can be worn with or without the moulded cups - I tried both options and preferred them in for extra nipple coverage.
Evelyn & Bobbie Busty Non-Wired Bra: Care
As per the instructions, I washed the bra on a cold machine wash and dried it flat. They also advise you to remove the cups and wash those separately. The bra washed well and retained its shape and level of support. I will continue to wear and wash the bra and update this review if I see any changes.
Evelyn & Bobbie Busty Non-Wired Bra: Verdict
The bra is invisible under my tight white t-shirt

Himalayan Salt was the nearest to my skin tone, so this is the colour I have. All three shades have matching long-line slip shorts to create a smooth line under tight dresses.
