Collagen is far from a new beauty buzzword - this protein has long been known as an essential building block of healthy skin, hair, nails, and more.

However, as we continue to discover its many benefits, it's fair to say that collagen is having a moment. This is thanks to brands such as Gold Collagen who are educating beauty and health enthusiasts about what this supportive ingredient can do, and the best ways to boost our natural stores.

Hannah: "There are lots of collagen brands on the market. Can you tell me a bit about why this one is so special?"

Laura: "I'm 43, and always spoke to my mum very openly about everything - I still do, but never, ever, did she talk about collagen. Now we know it is something we all need to be talking about. Really, they say from 24 or 25, you should be taking collagen.

Gold Collagen has a variety of products, one is the Pure, which is for 30+. I take Forte Ageless, and I've also tried Forte Plus. Gold Collagen has been around since 2011 or 2010, and they were doing trials way back then, before anyone else. It's one of the original products."

H: Do you take one of them a day?

L: "I take it every morning, for the last three or four years; it's part of my routine now. It's not just collagen in the bottle; there are so many other ingredients and vitamins, and benefits. It tastes nice, which is important because lots of collagens can be pretty disgusting tasting! This is peach, lychee, mango - and sugar-free."

H: I've got to talk about A Place In The Sun, we love it.

L: "We celebrated 25 years this year, and we are back filming at the start of the new year. I can't wait to be back in the sunshine. To be honest, I'm looking forward to it."

"Obviously, I spend a lot of time in the sun filming, I always wear factor 50 suncare, and have done for a very long time, but it [Gold Collagen] helps with pigmentation as well. If I'm ever lucky enough to have my makeup done, they say, 'your skin's really lovely. What is it you do?' I take this little collagen shot! I really have noticed a difference."

H: We put a lot of pressure on ourselves as women to be able to do everything, and we're sold this dream that we can have everything, a career, a lovely home...

L: "Having it all at once is near impossible. But I'm very much a glass-half-full person. I definitely feel as if I've got into my 40s, I'm way more comfortable with who I am now, and not worrying so much about what other people think of me. I take care of my skin, my wellness, I've got my little regime going on, I do what works for me."
