'We were close' Thomas Markle reminisces on relationship with estranged daughter Meghan
Four months after the birth of his grandson, Thomas Markle has spoken out about being 'ghosted' from his daughter Meghan's life.
Not only has the 75-year-old never met his grand child, he has only ever seen a picture of Meghan's first born, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on the internet.
Despite failing to attend her wedding to Prince Harry after suffering a heart attack - and their strained relationship that has followed since - Thomas insisted he loves his daughter.
"We were so close," he confessed to the Mail on Sunday. "Sometimes I get the feeling people think I don't love my daughter. I do love her very much. I would love nothing more than to put a picture of Archie in a frame and place it beside the one of Meghan."
But, Thomas thinks Meghan and her husband are "hypocrites" for claiming to be "charitable" yet cutting him out of their lives.
Discussing the controversy surrounding their use of private jets in recent weeks despite their enviromental campaigning, Thomas said: "I feel sorry for them in a way because they brought this on themselves. You can't say one thing and do another.
"Everyone raves about how gracious and wonderful they are, but they are not wonderful to their own family. That's hypocritical.

"You can't portray yourself as being charitable and bringing people together and then ghost your own father and your entire family. Their treatment of me has left a lot to be desired."
