While we were big fans of the Queen’s style already, one particular outfit seems to be having a big impact right now.

This follows royal news that the Queen’s dressmaker is joining efforts with the NHS for a great cause.

The nation gathered to hear the Queen’s historic speech last week – only the fifth times she’s addressed the country when it's not Christmas day.

The monarch wore a lovely green outfit, and it turns out that there's a beautiful meaning behind her choice.

The colour green is rich in symbolism, as explained by colour expert Kate Smith to PEOPLE magazine.

She said, “Green is the color of healing, nature, balance, and good health, which is just what is needed right now.”

The colour also has other positive associations like progress, growth, prosperity.

“Physically, the color green has a relaxing, calming effect on our bodies”, she added. “Whatever the reason, it was a great choice.”

And it seems like the outfit was a hit around the world. According to the publication, figures from data aggregator Lyst show that searches for the colour the Queen wore spiked 52 percent after the Queen’s speech.

This means that despite having very famous and influential relatives when it comes to fashion – the Kate and Meghan effects come to mind – the Queen’s style influence can be just as great as the younger royals.

The Queen is currently in Windsor, where she’s isolating with her husband Prince Philip and a small number of members of staff.
