The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first return to the UK yesterday, following their decision to step down from being senior members of the royal family.

Since the announcement, the pair have began living across the pond in Canada with their ten-month-old son, Archie Harrison, but paid a visit to London for a very special occasion last night.

The husband and wife duo stepped out for their first public appearance since their royal family departure, heading to the Endeavour Fund Awards.

The Duke and Duchess beamed with joy as they arrived at the ceremony and were greeted by adoring royal fans.

But things took an unexpected turn during the event, when the winner of the Recognising Achievement Award, Danny Holland, proposed to his girlfriend.

The surprise proposal was far from low-key, being done on stage, directly in front of the royal guests.

In video footage from the wonderful moment, a surprised Harry and Meghan can be seen grinning and applauding as Danny’s girlfriend accepted his offer.

Duchess Meghan looked elegant in a bright blue, fitted midi dress by Victoria Beckham while her husband coordinated in a sharp blue suit, matching his tie with her look.

Sporting her signature sleek, low ponytail and a pair of Manolo Blahnik stiletto pumps, the regal mother-of-one oozed class.

Making sure to give fans an update on her and Prince Harry's little boy, Meghan chatted with Claire Spencer, whose husband was nominated for an award at the ceremony.

Meghan reportedly said, "Oh yes, well he is ten months now and is into everything."
