Prince Charles has revealed how baby Lilibet has already inspired him in a touching speech on a recent Oxford trip.

Prince Charles has revealed how the birth of his youngest grandchild has reminded him of one of his lifelong passions—eco-friendly cars.

The Prince of Wales paid a surprise tribute to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's daughter, Lilibet 'Lili' Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on a visit to the MINI Plant in Oxford on Tuesday.

Speaking on the issue of sustainable transport, the royal heir shared how the joyful baby news has only highlighted to him the need for more eco-friendly wheels.

“Having recently become a grandfather for the fifth time” Prince Charles is more aware than ever of the importance of “maintaining the health of our world for future generations.”

“Such happy news really does remind one of the necessity of continued innovation in this area—especially around sustainable battery technology—in view of the legacy we bequeath to our grandchildren,” he added.

The sweet nod to his stateside granddaughter comes shortly after he and the Duchess of Cornwall released an official statement to congratulate Meghan and Harry on their new baby.

It remains unclear when Prince Charles will be introduced to Lilibet, but royal experts have suggested he could be waiting a while. The future King is currently at odds with his youngest son, Prince Harry, due to a string of family disputes over the past few months. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made allegations of racism against Buckingham Palace during their bombshell interview with Oprah in March, claiming that there were “concerns” about Archie's skin color within the Royal Family.

Harry also harshly criticized his father's parenting in April during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, telling host Dax Shepard that he inherited “genetic pain and suffering” from Prince Charles. When questioned on his son's comments, the Prince of Wales refused to make any statement.

Luckily, the alleged feud hasn't impacted the relationship between Her Majesty and her 11th great-grandchild. The Queen was the first Royal Family member introduced to Lilibet, meeting her in an exciting video call with Meghan and Harry shortly after she arrived home from the hospital. The couple were said to be eager to show off their beloved daughter to the British monarch, whose childhood moniker was the inspiration behind Lilibet’s name.
