Kate Middleton could be off the guest list for Princess Diana tribute—so what does this mean for the boys?
She's known as the 'peacekeeper'
Kate Middleton could be forced to stay at home when Prince William and Prince Harry reunite next week at the official unveiling of their mother, Princess Diana’s statue.
- Kate Middleton could be absent from the official unveiling of Princess Diana's memorial statue on July 1.
- The guest list has had to be scaled down due to COVID-19 and reports suggest only Princess Diana's close family will be in attendance.
- This follows royal news that Kate Middleton's $89 jeans show a move away from the skinny style.
Kate Middleton could be forced to skip Princess Diana's memorial next week due to a scaled-back guest list.
Although it had been widely reported that the Duchess of Cambridge would act as "peacekeeper" between the feuding brothers, Kensington Palace has since confirmed Prince Harry and Prince William will be the only senior royals to attend.
A statement released on Friday said, "Prince Harry and Prince William will attend a small event to mark the unveiling of a statue they commissioned of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace on Thursday 1 July.
"In addition to close family of Diana, Princess of Wales, members of the statue committee, the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, and garden designer, Pip Morrison, will also be present."
The statue is being erected on what would have been the Princess of Wales' 60th birthday.
It was the Duchess of Cambridge who encouraged the brothers to have a heart-to-heart at Prince Philip's funeral back in April, and it was thought she could ease tensions at the unveiling of the statue next week.

Despite Meghan's claims that Kate made her cry in the run-up to her wedding, Kate's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, revealed the Duchess of Cambridge has been "trying to mediate" behind the scenes in order to try and heal the rift.
He told Closer magazine, "If anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker.
"Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can... She’s trying to mediate.”
It comes after reports she and William are set to make a secret trip to America this summer to continue attempts to "make the peace".
It's been just under a year since the brothers commissioned the statue of their mother to mark her 60th birthday.
In a joint statement at the time, they said, "It has been 20 years since our mother's death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue."
So, despite their differences there's no doubt the brothers will put on a united front next week to pay tribute to their beloved mother.
