Oprah Winfrey will honor Tina Turner in an upcoming interview following the release of the superstar’s poignant new documentary, according to entertainment insiders.

The talk show host has reportedly shared her thoughts on Tina with Clive Davis in a pre-recorded interview for his upcoming Grammys party.

The legendary music producer, who is known for his elaborate pre-Grammy bashes, sat down with Oprah for over an hour to discuss a range of subjects – including Tina Turner.

“He interviewed her for 90 minutes… it will, of course, be edited,” a source told the New York Post. “It’s linked to one of his favorite Tina Turner performances, and there was quite a bit of discussion around Tina.”

Clive, who has produced hits for a wide range of musicians in the past, was apparently delighted to bag the interview with the broadcasting heavyweight.

“Clive was very excited that he got Oprah,” the source added. “It’s a big deal. He was like, ‘Can you believe this?’”

The conversation is likely to be an interesting one in light of the recent revelations made in Tina’s documentary. The emotional film explored the R&B star’s turbulent personal life, which was dominated by an abusive marriage with her now ex-husband Ike Turner. The horrific violence Tina suffered during the relationship left her with mental health issues that drove her to attempt suicide in 1968.

“I was living a life of death,”  she said in the documentary. The couple separated in 1976 after Tina found the courage to fight back during one attack. However, the singer still deals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from the abuse. Despite being divorced for over 43 years, Tina continues to experience flashbacks about the horrific ordeal.

“Revisiting that time can be very traumatic for her,” said Dan Lindsay, one of the documentary filmmakers. “And it oftentimes comes up in dreams or nightmares, and it’s like she’s reliving that stuff for the first time again.“
