If speculation is to be believed, we could soon be saying goodbye to some of our favourite Loose Women presenters.

According to the Daily Star, producers over at the popular ITV show have been undergoing a secret mission to attempt to weed out the most unpopular hosts. Reportedly, they are secretly polling viewers of the show in order to gauge who they like the most - and who they don't.

And it seems that the hosts with the lowest levels of popularity could be at risk of being booted off of the programme.

The publication reports that there is an "online feedback poll" which "asks viewers which stars they dislike and why".

Apparently, viewers of the programme are asked to rate the presenters, and asked questions such as 'how funny are they?', in order to do so. Another question reportedly asks:"Which panellist is most likely to encourage you to switch off?"

An insider told the paper: "They will definitely axe an unpopular star."

But who might be at risk of going? Well, if rumours are to be believed, relative newbies Katie Price and Stacey Solomon might be heading home.

The pair are the newest additions to the daytime panel, with Katie and Stacey both joining as regulars in 2016.

And despite appearing to be well-received by their fellow panellists, there has been some controversy around Katie joining the panel. Former host Carol McGiffin, who starred on the show for a whopping 13 years, hascriticised the decision to have Katie on the show, suggesting that she's only there to pull in viewers because of her big following online.

In 2016, she told Woman magazine, "I don't know what she's doing there. But she's got a lot of Twitter followers, and they're desperate for viewers. I can't believe those women [panellists] are sitting with her.

"Where's their self-respect? That's why the show is so different, because they're going for people with a lot of fans."

And the news comes just a few months after Stacey Solomon revealed that the Loose ladies are on six-monthly contracts, and that hers was up in July.

She told the Daily Star, "I don't know what's happening. We get six monthly contracts and mine is up in July, so I'll have to wait and see."

Of course, Stacey has starred on the panel numerous times since July - but does that mean she's safe from the current round of axing?

Singer and actress Martine McCutcheon has also expressed uncertainty about her future on the show before, saying "I have a contract for a year and that started last July. Hopefully, I'll stay on it."

It's likely however that the other long-standing cast members, such as Andrea McLean, Linda Robson, Janet Street-Porter and Nadia Sawalha will be safe, given how how popular they regularly appear with viewers.
