Much to our delight, ITV announced that, following the first series, smash hit thriller series Liar will be back for a season two. And now, a trailer for the next instalment of the show has been released - and it looks very intriguing...

The first season of Liar, starring Joanne Froggatt as Laura Neilson, and Ioan Gruffudd as Andrew Earlham, saw a vicious battle between the two lead characters.
Laura was a respected and talented teacher, who, recently single, went on a date with Andrew, a widowed surgeon. But everything begins to unravel when the next day, Laura accuses Andrew of raping her - while Andrew is adamant that he didn't. Questions were raised about whether Laura was telling the truth or not, resulting in a furious war between the two.
So what do we already know about Liar season 2?
What is Liar season 2 going to be about?
The second season of the popular programme will centre around the shocking cliffhanger from the last episode of series one - Andrew's murder.
It will follow a 'whodunnit' storyline, as the characters attempt to work out who might have killed the surgeon, whose body was found in the Kent marshes after he went missing.
In the trailer for new series, a voiceover of Laura is played, as she's pulled in for questioning for Andrew's murder. And while she may be an obvious suspect, she appears adamant it wasn't her...
Laura is heard saying, "I wanted Andrew to suffer. It’s all I could think about, and when I found out he was dead I was relieved that he couldn’t hurt anyone else the way he hurt me."
"The way he hurt so many people, ruined so many lives."
Towards the end of the trailer though, she vehemently denies killing him while the clip flashes to all of the faces affected by Andrew's death, including his son Luke.
Who is in Liar season 2?
Both Ioan and Joanne will return to reprise their roles in this second series.
But if you're wondering how the deceased character of Andrew will be making a reappearance, the show's creators Jack and Harry Williams have revealed that he won't be coming back from the dead!
They explained that series two will include flashbacks in time, as the truth about his death unravels. They said, "I can categorically say that he’s dead, but there’s a time jump at the end of the series,
"There’s three weeks we’re going to find out, we’re going to see the story of what actually happens in the weeks leading up to it.'
And they'll be joined by their fellow season one castmates, including Jamie Flatters as Luke Earlham, Zoe Tapper as Katy Sutcliffe, who worked with Andrew at the hospital, and Richie Campbell as Liam Sutcliffe, her husband, too.
But there will be some new faces joining the cast as well.
Former Coronation Street star, and 2019 Strictly Come Dancing contestant Catherine Tyldesley will be starring in season two. She'll be playing the role of DI Karen Renton, who will be joining DS Rory Maxwell, as his new partner. The pair will be teaming up to try and solve the murder of Andrew.
When will Liar season 2 start - and how many episodes will there be?
All ITV have revealed at the moment is that the second series will start in March - so we don't have long to wait!
An exact date is yet to be confirmed, but it'll likely be early March.
As for the number of episodes, again, no number has been confirmed, but series one had six episodes, so we can likely expect similar - or slightly more or slightly less.
