Khloé Kardashian has defended herself after she requested that an unretouched photo of herself was removed when it was mistakenly put online and cruel trolls tore her looks apart.
Khloé Kardashian was mercilessly trolled when an unretouched photo of her in a bikini began circulating. Fans made cruel comments about the way that Khloé looked and subsequently the Kardashian team took measures to have the image deleted from the internet.
Following this drama, Khloé has now released a message on Twitter to defend her actions. Khloé said, “Hi Guys, this is me and my body, unretouched and unfiltered. The photo that was posted this week is beautiful.”

In the message Khloé wrote, “In truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and judgment my entire life to be perfect and to meet others' standards of how I should look has been too much to bear." She explained that she has constantly been compared to her sisters and has struggled with being the “fat sister” and the “ugly sister.”
She argued that if she didn’t feel comfortable with an image of herself being on the internet, then she has every right to request that it is removed. She said, “But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn't flattering, in bad lighting or doesn't capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point – and then shares it to the world – you should have every right to ask for it not to be shared – regardless of who you are.”
She concluded that she will no longer feel that she needs to apologize for using filters. She said, “I love a good filter, good lighting and an edit here and there. The same way I throw on some make-up, get my nails done or wear a pair of heels to present myself to the world the way I want to be seen and it’s exactly what I will continue to do unapologetically.”
Many fellow celebrities rushed to support Khloé, singer Ariana Grande said, “love u & your heart.” Similarly, Khloé’s half-sister Kendall Jenner said, “yes! you beautiful, strong, HEALTHY queen.”
However, there were others who felt that Khloé could have used this incident as a teachable moment to promote body positivity for young women.
Body Positive Activist Jameela Jamil commented on the post, “I’m extremely sorry for what we all watched happen to you over the past decade. It’s so unacceptable. Now would be a great time to throw diet culture in the fuck it bucket, stop editing photos, admit to the help you get to look how you do, and be transparent with your fans.”
Another commenter said, "Hey Khloé lovely statement, but I think you are missing the point here, you are given a platform where so many girls look up to you and the image you and your sisters are putting is damaging. You put out unrealistic standards and tip toe around how you actually got 'the body'."
Khloé later posted a video on Instagram to prove that her figure is not photoshopped. She posted videos onto Instagram with the caption, “PS.Yes I did a live to show you all this isn’t photoshopped.”
