Jill Biden showed off her humorous side on this year's April Fool's Day, shedding her First Lady persona to play a waitress on board the Air Force One.

The full-time professor has been taking her new FLOTUS role seriously since President Biden's inauguration in January, tackling child poverty and visiting schools nationwide. The serious nature of her job can feel a little overwhelming, but luckily Jill knows just how to lighten things up.

The First Lady decided to treat the media to some fun on Thursday, dressing up as a waitress during a recent flight across the country and handing out sweets to her oblivious customers.

Dr. Biden successfully tricked the journalists on the journey from California to Washington DC with her clever disguise, which included a short black wig and name badge that read 'Jasmine.'

Jill went completely unnoticed as she distributed Dove ice cream bars to passengers during a meal service, fooling the press and even some members of her own staff with her slick costume. She later returned to reveal the prank and say, 'April Fool's!' to the stunned reporters.

This isn't the first time Jill has played a practical joke in the air. The Professor of English was known for livening up the stuffy environment of political office with her frivolous antics during Joe's term as Vice-President. She once gave one unfortunate passenger a major scare on the Air Force Two when she crammed herself into the overhead luggage bin. "When the first person opened the bin to stow his roller bag, I popped halfway out and screamed, ‘Boo!’ though it was hard to get it out through my laughter,” she said.

The pranks may sound childish to some, but Jill believes they're crucial to maintaining her sanity in the high-pressure job.

“The White House is a serious place, with serious people, doing serious work,” she explained in her memoir, Where the Light Enters: Building a Family, Discovering Myself. "If you’re not careful, it can grind you down."
