Friends star Courteney Cox shows off her Monica-inspired kitchen in hilarious video

Courteney Cox has paid tribute to her Friends character Monica in a witty kitchen tour

The Friends reunion may not be reviving the hit show's iconic characters, but it looks like Courteney Cox’s inner Monica will never truly die.

The legendary TV star revealed her similarities with her on-screen persona in a recent Instagram video, in which she treated fans to a short tour of her immaculately organized kitchen.

“Tell me you're a Monica without telling me you're a Monica,” she said. “I’ll go first.”

Courteney proceeded to open a number of her kitchen cabinets, showcasing a pattern of perfectly arranged items.

From evenly spaced, polished cutlery to matching jars of labelled spices, the ultra-neat space would be sure to get the Monica Geller stamp of approval. The kooky character of the iconic Friends sextet was known for her perfectionistic tendencies, often spending hours organising her belongings and cleaning her apartment.

Courteney’s short video has racked up over 1.3m likes, with many fans delighting in the aesthetically pleasing nature of the clip.

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland, who has previously shown her support for Jennifer Aniston on social media, didn’t hold back when sharing her reaction. “I had an orgasm when that drawer opened,” the sitcom star joked.

Many followers hinted at their design envy, revealing their desire to have their own Monica organise their homes. Others urged Courteney to show off her closet next which, if the kitchen is anything to go by, will most likely look like a high-end boutique.

The hilarious video comes amid excitement for the upcoming Friends reunion, which will see the cast regroup after 17 years apart for a one-off special. The premiere date of the highly anticipated episode has not yet been announced by HBO Max, but fans will be relieved to know that all six members of the iconic friend squad will be returning. However, they will not be reprising their roles for the episode. Instead, the format will take on a chat show vibe, with the A-list stars engaging in an open conversation about their experiences on Friends.

“In order to avoid any misunderstanding about what this special is, we want to make it very clear that this is not a new, original episode of the series. The cast will be appearing as themselves, not as their beloved characters,” a statement from HBO Max read, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
