The Duchess of Cambridge wowed on an important Zoom call last year wearing one of our favorite brands on the British high street - Boden.

  • The Duchess of Cambridge appeared on a Zoom call to thank two key workers for their dedication and raise awareness of the Hold Still exhibition 2020.
  • Catherine looked timelessly elegant in a frosted blue cardigan and it soon sold out due to the famous 'Kate effect'.
  • The cardigan has just come back into stock on the Boden website - but you'll need to be quick if you want to snap one up!
  • This follows the royal news that Prince William and Kate Middleton honor Prince Philip with a touching photograph.

The Kate effect is widely reported - when the Duchess of Cambridge wears something - especially something affordable - it soon sells out. Last year's frosted blue Boden cardigan was no exception, with shoppers eagerly picking up the sweater in every colorway after Catherine was spotted wearing it on a Zoom call.

Catherine wore the item while on a call to two frontline workers, expressing her appreciation for their dedication to helping others. The Duchess of Cambridge spoke to Johannah Churchill, whose portrait of her colleague Melanie Senior was recreated as a mural in Manchester last month as part of the Hold Still 2020 exhibition.

This elegant cardigan will complement jeans, trousers, or layer over a simple dress.

The cardigan soon sold out in the frosted blue, shortly followed by the maroon colorway. This time around, Boden has released the elegant knitwear item in three new shades; Grey Melange, Azalea Pink and Navy.

The website describes the elegant item as a great choice for our changeable British weather. ‘This one feels lightweight yet warm, thanks to its luxurious blend of merino wool and cotton,’ states the brand’s website. ‘A scalloped collar and sophisticated gathered sleeves give it a feminine finish.’

The reviews for this item are overwhelmingly positive, with shoppers praising its look and feel. 'This cardigan is unique and yet very wearable. It brings charm to any casual outfit. So pretty! I got mine in light blue and I love it. Someone compliments it every time I wear it,' said one happy shopper.

While another wrote, 'I loved this bright pink cardigan. I felt it was a bit different with the beautiful collar . Will enjoy wearing it with white trousers when the weather gets better. Loved that I bought it with a £10 off voucher. Love boden clothes.'
