Although the Queen has never revealed her favorite meal and this remains one of the big mysteries about the Queen's dining habits, a number of other details about the Queen's diet have been revealed over the years.
One of the interesting facts about the monarch's diet includes the secret way that she lets her staff know that she is ready for her next course. Apparently, the Queen has a secret button that a member of staff presses once the Queen has finished her course, which signals to the kitchen to bring up her next course.
"Once the Queen puts down her cutlery, an ever-watchful page behind her presses a button on a handheld zapper, which sends a literal green-light signal to the kitchen, ushering in the next course," reports royal author Bryan Kozlowski in his new book Long Live the Queen! 13 Rules for Living from Britain's Longest Reigning Monarch.
The royal author, Bryan Kozlowski cites his source as former royal chef Darren McGrady. Darren McGrady has revealed a number of revealing details about the Queen's dining habits over the years including the unlikely dessert that made the Queen 'really angry' and led to a sassy message from Her Majesty.
The chef also revealed the unusual sandwich filling is said to be the Queen's favorite. According to Darren the Queen loves jam sandwiches. "Simple, just bread and jam with a little butter - usually strawberry jam. We’d make the jam at Balmoral Castle with the gorgeous Scottish strawberries from the gardens," revealed the chef.
There are a number of things that Her Majesty likes and dislikes to eat and although her meal times are a lot more sophisticated than most, she still enjoys normal food. It was revealed that Her Majesty is a fan of toast and marmalade, cereal, and burgers - although, the Queen eats hamburgers in the weirdest way and honestly, we're intrigued.
