New mother-of-one Serena Williams has offered words of wisdom for the pregnant Duchess.
As Meghan’s second trimester gets underway, it’s no surprise her loved ones are offering their support and advice, including tennis legend Serena Williams.
Earlier in the week at her clothing line launch in Miami, Serena opened up about her close friend Meghan and what advice she has to help her through pregnancy.
Serena told how she’s been advising Meghan to focus a bit more on herself, instead of everyone else, as she normally does.
“I’m like, ‘How are you?’ and she’s like, ‘No, how are you? And I’m like, ‘You’re so sweet, but I’m really asking – how are you?’” Serena told People.
“I’m like, ‘Meghan, stop being so nice…you’re the pregnant one, aren’t you supposed to have hormones, why are you so sweet?’”
And according to the star tennis player, Meghan also hasn’t changed a bit since becoming a member of the royal family. She said, “But that’s always been her.”
Serena Williams gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia, her first child with husband Alexis Ohanian, in September 2017.
The mum-of-one revealed that she has also been sharing her pregnancy tips with the Duchess, although Meghan “still gives me more advice.”
Serena’s also gave her best piece of advice for new mothers, saying “It will come.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, I didn’t know how I’m going to have a baby, and it all came,” she said. “It’s so crazy, I totally changed, and it is literally like a switch. And so, I say that, ‘It will come.’”
Meghan and Serena began their friendship after meeting at the Super Bowl in 2010. Although Meghan now lives in London with Prince Harry, she and Serena have remained close friends. Serena attended the royal wedding at Windsor Castle in May with her husband, while Meghan cheered Serena at Wimbledon over the summer alongside sister-in-law Catherine.
In a Vogue interview in September 2017, Meghan spoken about how much she admires Serena and what a great mother she’ll be.
“She will be an amazing mom. The very best, because she is so attuned to balancing strength and sensitivity.
“Plus, given that she is pretty epic at karaoke, I think she’ll put her signature Serena spin on singing lullabies for the baby. I can’t wait for that!”
