It’s lovely to think that despite the 94-year-old monarch not residing at this majestic royal home since last year, the gardens are still being well-tended to in her absence.
She and her husband Prince Philip have been married for over 70 years and whilst they generally remain private about their relationship, spending Valentine’s Day together at Windsor Castle was likely to have been lovely for the couple.

Why was Valentine’s Day special for the Queen this year?
The Queen's beautiful Valentine's Day post came the same day that her grandson, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, announced the exciting news that they are expecting baby number two. The couple have been married for three years in May and are already devoted parents to young son Archie.
Reports have claimed that the Queen and the wider royal family are “delighted” at the happy family news, which came 37 years after Princess Diana announced her pregnancy with Prince Harry.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty and effects of the pandemic, February has been a truly momentous month for the Queen’s family. Not only will she now be welcoming a new baby Sussex into the Royal Family, but the birth of Princess Eugenie’s son last week has made her the proud great-grandmother of nine royal children.
With Zara Tindall currently pregnant too, the Queen looks set to have an astonishing eleven great-grandchildren by the end of this - her 69th year on the throne.
