Kate Middleton wears scarf with special hidden meaning for first ever visit to Orkney
Currently undertaking a tour of Scotland, Kate Middleton's chic fashion statement was carefully chosen for this reason

Prince William and Kate Middleton continued their mini tour of Scotland with a pitstop on the island of Orkney. While opening a hospital in Kirkwall, the Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a gorgeous tartan scarf, which holds a special meaning.

Whatever the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge's impeccable and impactful outfit choices never go unnoticed. No matter the outfit selection, Kate Middleton's dresses, jewelry, and outerwear all look glamorous and are likely to sell out quickly.
But what's perhaps even more lovable than her great sense of style is her dedication; there is often a special significance behind her sartorial choices.
While opening Orkney's new Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall and greeting National Health Service staff, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a flawless Massimo Dutti coat (you can copy the style with one of these great camel coats) and topped it off with with a scarf in the Strathearn tartan.
This subtle but meaningful choice is a nod to her and Prince William's Scottish titles, the Earl and Countess of Strathearn, which were a gift from the Queen upon their nuptials. As another fitting tribute, the Duchess also wore a pair of earrings by Scottish jeweler Hamilton and Inches.

In her husband's opinion, her efforts on the soundboard were... less than stellar. "Can rule out a music career," he captioned on Instagram. "Keep up the incredible work Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and please do delete that music…"
