Sex and the City's Chris Noth has appeared in a new Peloton advert after the exercise bike featured in a controversial scene in the new spin-off series And Just Like That.

*Be warned, there are spoilers ahead!*

Fans of And Just Like there were gobsmacked as Carrie's husband Mr. Big was killed off after cycling on a Peloton and suffering from a heart attack. The storyline shocked fans and many questions were raised about the safety of Peloton bikes and their links to heart attacks.

In response, Peloton has released a new tongue-in-cheek advert called 'He's Alive' which shows Mr Big alive and well and still using his Peloton bike.

In the advert, Chris chats to his Peloton instructor saying, "I feel great. Shall we take another ride? Life's too short not to." The pair then laugh and look at their Peloton bikes in the background of their cosy sitting room.

The seductive advert is narrated by Ryan Reynolds who adds at the end, "And Just Like that, the world was reminded that regular cycling stimulates and improves your heart, lungs, and circulation, reducing your risk of cardiovascular disease."

"Cycling strengthens your heart muscles, lowers resting pulse, and reduces blood fat levels. He's alive."

Peloton shares went down after their product placement in the Sex and the City reboot was linked to Big's death. But Peloton responded to the shocking death with a statement and this new advert.

Fans were impressed with Peloton's quick response from their marketing team to dispel rumors that their products may be linked to heart attacks.

"Peloton was faster with a response than Carrie was with dialing 911," said one amused fan.

"I don’t watch SATC, only read the news about the first episode but this is brilliant! It will be an everlasting case study about turning a bad press into a good one," said another.

However, others felt the advert was insensitive. "Who greenlit this disaster Peloton? You guys are toast. This PR move screams sinking in quicksand as the deadly heart attack takes hold. And just like that, Peloton dies," said one commenter.

"No, this isn't cute. This was an extremely triggering scene for widows. So many people have found their partners dead like this and this ad is messed up and insensitive. If he died in a car accident, it wouldn't be cool for BMW to make an ad like this. Think about that," said another.

The first two episodes of And Just Like That premiered Thursday, December 9, with the following eight episodes scheduled to be released weekly on Thursdays.

The Sex and the City reboot can be viewed from anywhere in the world and on NOW TV in the UK, and HBO Max in the US.
