Reese Witherspoon nails springtime style with the perfect candy pink coat and matching trousers

Reese Witherspoon has delighted fans after stepping out in a gorgeous pastel pink coat and matching trousers in Washington. 

Elle Woods, is that you? 

Reese Witherspoon looked every inch the Legally Blonde legend on her latest trip, stepping out in a pink coat and matching trousers that would have looked right at home in the iconic 2001 film. 

Joined by 'dear friends and new friends' in Washington DC, the 46-year-old enjoyed '24 hours' soaking up the Capitol in celebration of Women's History Month on Wednesday. 

In a series of photos shared on her Instagram, Reese can be seen beaming with an unnamed woman outside US Vice President Kamala Harris' official home, the Number One Observatory Circle. In another snap, the Morning Show star is pictured meeting US civil rights activist and labor leader, Dolores Huerta. She also enjoyed some retail therapy, trying on the latest sunglasses trends for 2022 in a trendy boutique optician. 

Surprisingly though, it's not her invitation to the VIP residence or mingling with living legends that has everyone talking. 

Reese's pastel pink coat and trousers have fans struck by noughties déjà vu, with many pointing out how much the outfit resembles the fashion of her Legally Blonde character, Elle Woods. The Harvard law student-turned-attorney was known for her unapologetically feminine style, regularly showing up to class and work in pink shades and soft cuts. 

"Reese channeling her inner elle woods!!!" one excited follower wrote. 

"Here for the Legally Blonde vibes with that pink suit!!!" another person said. 

This isn't the first time Reese has worn her pink, black-buttoned coat—which she paired with a crisp white shirt and white handbag—in public. The Oscar-winner was spotted in the elegant piece back in April 2019 as she attended an Easter Sunday Service with her husband and children. She went for a slightly more traditional finish at the religious ceremony, pairing the coat with strappy tanned heels and a blue and white striped summer dress.
