Prince Harry, 33, has been dating Meghan, 36, since summer 2016.

In September 2017, Meghan spoke to Vanity Fair magazine saying the pair were "really happy and in love".

The Suits actress also revealed that the pair had been dating for six months before their relationship became public.

Meghan's parents have said they are "incredibly happy" at the news of the couple's engagement, adding, "We wish them a lifetime of happiness."

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have said, "We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together."
