The film’s official synopsis states that, ‘Legendary performer Judy Garland arrives in London in the winter of 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts’. Count us in!

The upcoming biopic, simply called Judy, follows the actress’ life 30 years after her iconic Wizard of Oz role, which kick started her acting career. There’s definitely going to be a serious tone to the film, as it also shows Garland exhausted by fame.

Judy died from an accidental overdose at just 47-years-old, and the trailer gives us a taste of some of the struggles she faced leading up to her death, including health issues.

The film has quite the star-studded cast with Wild Rose and Chernobyl actress Jessie Buckley joining Renee Zellweger as Rosalyn Wilder, Judy’s production assistant.

As you can imagine, lots of the film revolves around Judy’s personal life and relationship Finn Wittrock plays her fifth husband Mickey Deans, and Rufus Sewell joins the cast as her third husband Sid Luft.

Bella Ramsey plays Sid and Judy’s daughter, Lorna Luft, and Michael Gambon stars as Judy’s manager Bernard Delfontm.

UK audiences can see the film in cinemas from October 24th, so there’s a long wait. We’re sure it’ll be worth it, though!
