Here's why Sheryl Underwood didn't answer Sharon Osbourne's texts following her exit from The Talk
The saga continues...
The Talk has finally returned—without Sharon Osbourne— and its first episode following a month-long hiatus unpacked quite a lot.
In March, a controversial argument erupted between Sharon and co-host Sheryl Underwood, which debated whether or not Piers Morgan's comments on Megan Markle were racist. This caused a huge rift between the hosts, racism and bullying accusations against Sharon, and ultimately her departure.
Now that the show has resumed, the remaining members of The Talk decided to shift their focus towards inclusion, healing, and moving forward, which included appearances from justice expert Dr. Donald E. Grant and life coach Dr. Anita Phillips on the April 12 episode. Additionally, the show's team members will engage in workshops and training sessions.
During the episode, Sheryl also took the time to acknowledge the seemingly heated back-and-forth between her and Sharon. Sheryl had insisted that Sharon never reached out to her following their argument, to which Sharon said to the Daily Mail, "Why are you saying I never apologized, Sheryl? What are you trying to do to me?" It turns out there was a reason behind it. Allegedly, Sheryl did not acknowledge the correspondence or apologies as CBS was in the middle of an investigation of the incident.

The network did release a statement several weeks ago, which read: "The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon's behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace."
Sharon has spoken out on social media to apologize, and even her husband Ozzy Osbourne has come to her defense with a somewhat explicit Instagram caption.

So what's next?
"People have asked me, 'Well, if you see Sharon, what would you do?" Sheryl said. "If she greeted me warmly and sincerely, I would give her back the same because we've been on this show for 10 years."
Here's hoping that peace, understanding, and acceptance are in the near future for this group.
