Sheryl Underwood breaks her silence over Sharon Osbourne's exit from The Talk

It's already been two weeks since Sharon Osbourne's dramatic exit from The Talk. As we sit here still reeling over the event, her co-host Sheryl Underwood has finally decided to break her silence.

Sharon had become involved with the Piers Morgan scandal after getting into a heated debate with Sheryl on the show over whether Piers' comments about Meghan Markle were racist.

The aftermath prompted CBS to release a statement after the episode aired, saying, "The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home," it read. "As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon's behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace."

Now that some time has passed, Sheryl has decided to share her "traumatic" side of the story. The comedian has said that Sharon has not contacted her since the two were both on set that day and goes on to reveal her experience in a three-part series on Sheryl Underwood Radio, titled Sharon Walks Away. 

The series was filmed a week after Sharon had left the show, and according to E!, Sheryl had gone through her personal phone to confirm that Sharon had not reached out to her.

"No, OK, I've been looking through my phone," she said. "No. I can go back as far as I can go. No."

Sharon's side of the story claims the opposite, though with her telling The Daily Mail that she not only texted Sheryl but also apologized to her in her dressing room.

"I not only sent these messages to Sheryl, but I apologized to her in person in her dressing room," Sharon told the outlet. "Why are you saying I never apologized, Sheryl? What are you trying to do to me?... Why are you trying to destroy my reputation? Just be honest. Tell me." 

Sharon also tweeted out an apology after the incident, writing, "To anyone of color that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused or let down by what I said, I am truly sorry."

Sheryl described her reaction to the letter as "an odd feeling," adding that "The issue is, for me, it's about trust. I don't want to add to the chatter in a negative way that we're not coming with positive solutions and trust and growth and evolution." 

In her opinion, she believes Sharon didn't receive the "best advice and counsel" for how to address the situation and believes "if this had played out differently," Sharon may not have left The Talk.
