How to watch Blue Planet III from anywhere - stream David Attenborough's remarkable new nature series online
As the beloved show returns for a third instalment, here’s all the details and how to tune in
A quarter of a century after it first hit our screens, Sir David Attenborough and the BBC are back with a third installment of Blue Planet, giving viewers new insight into the untold stories from our magical underwater worlds.
Sir David returned to narrate Blue Planet II in 2017, exposing the threats to our oceans. Now, the new six-part series will explore stories of adaptation and resilience in our changing world, along with stories of hope and recovery.
Each individual episode will focus on five key underwater habitats: Tropical Seas, Open Ocean, Seasonal Seas, Polar Waters and The Deep. While the sixth and final will hone in on the future of our seas and delve into what we can and need to do to protect them.
Speaking about the new series, Sir David, who like woman&home turned 100 this year, said, ‘Twenty-five years ago, when I narrated the first Blue Planet series, it didn't occur to me that I would be narrating a third series in my centennial year. The ocean is an endlessly fascinating place.’
‘In these new programmes we uncover a further wonderful array of underwater life, which is more surprising, more sophisticated and even more important than we ever realised. I am proud and delighted to be associated with Blue Planet III.’
Cinematographer João Rodrigues films a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) resting at the surface of the water for Blue Planet III: Open Ocean.
