Beth Dutton in Yellowstone Season 5: What to expect from this pivotal character in the explosive new series

Beth Dutton is the beloved character whose storyline is one of the most intriguing plotlines in the Yellowstone series, but what can fans expect from Beth in Yellowstone Season 5?

If you were one of the many viewers whose eyes were glued to the screen when they were watching Yellowstone Season 4, you probably are wondering what is going to happen to some of your favorite characters in the next series of Yellowstone - in particular, Beth Dutton. Here is what we know so far about Beth Dutton's plotlines in season 5 and how her relationship with Rip is set to progress in the upcoming season...

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kelly Reilly, the actor who plays Beth Dutton, commented that Beth's marriage to Rip is not set to make any major changes to her characterization."Beth has always been devoted to Rip," Kelly said. "Marriage does not change her. I think his love for her and hers for him is one of the very few things that keeps her demons at arm's length (mostly)."

In the same interview, Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, commented, "What I like about what [Taylor Sheridan] wrote is that he slow burns this year with me and Beth. In the beginning, there's some wonderful moments between the two of us, some stuff that she's going through in her past, that she's having to acknowledge for the first time, and me trying to help her through that."

Kelly added, "The war feels internal this year for her. [She's] haunted by the past, afraid for the future and fighting with all she has for the present moment."

In an interview with Vulture, Kelly also spoke about Beth's relationship with her brother Jamie. As fans of the show will know, Beth and Jamie have a complicated relationship as Beth blames Jamie for her infertility after he took her to an abortion clinic. He also became a double-crossing lawyer, and later Attorney General, which caused a lot of strife in the show.

At the end of season 4 fans watched as Beth blackmails Jamie to kill his biological father as revenge for his suspected attempt on their father's life. This then blew up as it was revealed that Jamie did in fact try to have their father John Dutton killed.

Speaking about where this leaves Beth and Jamie in season 5, Kelly said, "In her mind, Jamie tried to kill her father. If you think about what that would do to someone like Beth, there is no end point. I don’t think she ever goes, 'I’m going to wrap this up and forgive him.' I don’t think that’s in Beth."

Some fans of the show are wondering how to watch Yellowstone Season 5 ahead of its release in early November. The first and second episodes of the show will be released in the US on November 13 on Paramount and Paramount +.
