Here's two variations of the new Richmond bed frame. This perfectly demonstrates how the same bed can be made to suit two very different needs and likes.
As someone who hadn't changed their bed frame in nearly 15 years due to indecision, I was elated about the high level of personalisation available with the new upholstered designs. Before now, either the style was perfect, but the upholstery shade didn't suit my bedroom decor, or there were no suitable storage options.
After finally deciding on a luxe upholstered design, choosing my new bed was made easier not only by the wide range of designs on offer, but also by the flexibility permitted by Simba's new made-to-order options. I was able to choose the fabric, colour and the base to suit my needs. Being able to tailor the design to suit my style ensured I now have a bed that I love, with no compromise.
I chose the new Saltaire upholstery in the new 'Mink' velvet. The deep button-tufted headboard exudes a hotel-inspired luxury that elevates my bedroom decor. I opted for the two-drawer base to offer handy storage that seamlessly integrates into the plush design.
I really enjoyed the process of 'designing' my bed online, where you choose your frame, the fabric, colour and base. Once you've selected your preferences you see a mock up version of exactly what your finished bed will look like – I found that super helpful to visualise it in my home.
The bed arrived in three complete pieces, which were easy to assemble by slotting the two bases together, using a clever interlocking mechanism attached at one end of each unit. The feet push and click into each corner with ease, four on each base.
Once the base is in position, you simply line up the headboard and affix it securely in place using the four screws provided. No tools required, just a little bit of elbow grease. It is a two-person job, but I helped with the construction, and I wouldn't consider myself particularly strong or handy. It was so simple.
