M&S is on a roll right now, and the British clothing brand has quickly become the first place to browse for chic autumn layers, everyday essentials and pieces that look far more expensive than their price tag suggests. Now there's even more reason to scroll through its new-in with WAT The Brand, now available at M&S.

Founded by two friends who coincidentally met at an M&S press day almost 17 years ago, Sarah Tankel and Philippa Bloom launched their fashion brand in 2021. And after building WAT's (We Are Twinset) following through its own website, social channels and blog, they've come full circle by launching at M&S.

And if you're on the hunt for chic yet practical autumn outfit ideas, this collection is well and truly the place to shop. With an emphasis on both comfort and style, the designs are elevated yet made to be worn every day. Below are just a few of my favourites, including a khaki jacket inspired by heritage aesthetics that's bound to sell out fast and a boucle cardigan that will make the cosiest layering piece when temperatures drop.

For anyone who wants to freshen up their existing autumn capsule wardrobe, this collection is worth browsing. Rather than pieces that exclusively work for one outfit or one dress code, the brand is excellent at designing pieces that can be mixed and matched, so you're going to be able to max out the cost-per-wear.

Giving a gentle nod to the autumn/winter fashion trends for 2026, while there certainly is directional aesthetics at play, the items are timeless, so you know that what you invest in this autumn will see you through to next year and beyond.

And while you can still buy WAT on the brand's own website, the duo have done several 'exclusive to M&S' pieces too. Styled and modelled by Sarah and Philippa, this is a brand with a whole lot of style and heart, and two women designing with the knowledge of what their audience truly wants - versatile, elegant clothing that is comfortable too.
