The Autograph collection at M&S is so underrated - these are the new-in pieces I'm buying before they sell out
I always browse this underrated M&S collection when I want my wardrobe to look more expensive
While M&S has become a go-to for affordable yet stylish wardrobe staples, Autograph is where I'd look for pieces that feel a little bit more special. Sitting at the more elevated end of the retailer's offering, think beautifully tailored separates, luxurious-looking textures and classic silhouettes that wouldn't look out of place alongside more expensive British clothing brands like ME+EM.
Yes, the prices are a little bit more than you might normally expect from M&S, but the designs have investment piece written all over them, which makes spending a bit more worthwhile.
With the news season now well underway, the Autograph Autumn/Winter '26 collection just landed online and in-store, and M&S described it as: "Fresh silhouettes, standout prints and carefully considered details make every piece a must-have." Many of the pieces are already selling quickly, so I've shortlisted the ones you should buy first to avoid disappointment.

Funnel necklines are everywhere this season, and premium leather is a worthwhile way to spend a bit more money. You can really see how luxurious this jacket is - but be quick, because several sizes have sold out since it landed online. Size up to accommodate chunky knits underneath.
M&S is really on a roll when it comes to outerwear. Now I can't decide between the faux fur coat, the funnel neck leather bomber jacket or this very smart herringbone coat. It's really giving me 90s rom-com in New York, and I think that's the highest compliment I can pay any coat.
Yes, I'm already thinking ahead to party season, and I love the colour combination of moss green and pumpkin spice in this lace outfit. The beauty of investing in a full look like this is that you can, of course, mix and match both the top and skirt, meaning endless new outfit options.
M&S do the best barrel-leg jeans, in my opinion, and this more premium take on the trend than the mainline options is well worth it. I love the seam detailing, plus they've got added stretch, so they'll move with you throughout the day.
If you're only going to try one trend for autumn/winter 2026, it has to be faux fur cuffs. A coat can be quite a commitment, but this ribbed knit jumper will tick the trend off your list easily.
The collection has a grown-up, understated feel that has plenty of options for building outfits that look polished but not overly formal.
If you're planning a high street shopping spree, I'd urge you to look beyond the usual M&S bestsellers. The Autograph range might cost a little more, but it's unmatched for timeless designs that feel a step above your everyday essentials.
