I'm just about managing to resist the temptation to put my tree up until after Halloween, but it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas party outfits.

My favourite British clothing brand has just dropped a new party edit, and there's something about Rixo that feels different to the rest of the high street. Of course there are party season essentials like sequins and velvet in there, but this collection feels like the Rixo we all fell in love with when the brand was founded eleven years ago. The polka dots and colourful celestial print that are both running themes throughout the collection are very old-school Rixo in the best way.

It's exactly what Rixo does best - vintage-inspired pieces that feel as though you've just discovered them in a beautifully unique little boutique. These aren't dresses you'll buy for one night only that will stay in the back of your wardrobe thereafter. They're pieces you'll reach for whenever you need to get dressed up, from weddings to birthday dinners.

Rixo co-founder and creative director Orlagh McCloskey told woman&home: “Polka dots and stars have always been an essential part of RIXO's DNA. From the very beginning, we’ve loved them for their timeless, vintage-inspired feel, and they’ve become such a signature of the brand.

"We’ve always loved mixing prints and creating pieces that feel fun and a little bit special for party season, but can just as easily be dressed down and worn in your own way. For us, partywear is all about having fun with what you wear, feeling fabulous and creating pieces you’ll love wearing time and time again.”
