The Christmas countdown starts now: Here are the festive M&S new-in pieces to add to your wishlist
Halloween is over, it's time to sparkle
November is here, and with it comes Christmas prep. I've spotted high-street brands gently dropping festive fashion into new-in sections for the past fortnight, but with Halloween now out of the picture, we are firmly in twinkle season, so it's time to get ready.
Whether you've got a host of pre-25th of December events to attend, or family get-togethers for the big day itself, finding the ultimate festive fashion look is as important as the food shopping and gift purchasing.
Making me shout 'oooh, love that' on this cold Monday are the latest looks from M&S, who have gone for a subtle selection of twinkle, luxe fabrications and classic, reliable cuts to underpin your Christmas wardrobe. If you only need to make minor adjustments to last year's favourites, there are a host of affordable but directional accessories, ensuring there is something for every budget. Here are my favourites.
Already selling at an alarming rate, embellished jeans are set to be one of the biggest hits of the festive fashion season, and M&S denim is absolutely leading the pack right now. I love the subtlety of the embellishment on these black barrel-leg jeans, which adds sophistication to the look.
In one of the biggest autumn/winter fashion colour trends of 2026, this satin burgundy shirt will add instant wow factor to denim or tailoring. Most notable however is the fresh take on the cut which delivers a fitted waist area for added contouring.
More low-key sparkle, fused with our favourite fabric, the carrot cut is a lot more tapered than barrel for a slimmer fit that still feels elevated and relaxed. The blue/black hue adds a glam touch to these luxe looking jeans. Pair with heels, a silky cami and a black blazer.
Of course, if you have a little black dress, or a seasonal knit that you always rely on, a quick way of refreshing your wardrobe staples is with new accessories; and the autumn/winter handbag trends for 2026 have put embellishment firmly on the fashion map.
Channel your inner A-lister in this fabulous faux fur coat. Evening looks can be expertly planned, but if you've forgotten what outerwear is going to finish off your festive look, a faux fur coat will never go out of style and always ensure you arrive looking glamorous.
Available in bronze, navy or green, if you're looking for a fast and affordable way to Christmas fashion, this is it. The sparkly crew-neck, knitted top adds immediate festive cheer thanks to its subtle shine, while the shorter sleeve and classic shape make it comfortable and easy to style.
Kitten heeled, sling backs are one of the top autumn/winter shoe trends for 2026 and I love the sleek, subtle but retro styling of this classic black pair. The two tone fabrication and sweet bow add just the right amount of detail to this versatile shoe.
Texture is so important to winter dressing, and this cosy cardigan comes in three colourways: charcoal, dark olive and white - perfect for the festive season. Team with leather, sequin or even denim to add depth to smart casual outfit ideas.
I saw this blazer at the M&S press preview and immediately fell in love with it. Leopard print remains one of the core autumn/winter fashion trends for 2026, as this pattern never goes out of style. Use this blazer to up-style skirts, jeans, leather trousers and everything in between.
I love a statement buckle and this glitzy design is an easy way of updating your favourite jeans and blazer combos this winter. So tuck in your tee or cami, show off your middle and sparkle into Christmas.
It might feel a little early to dive into sparkles and mulled wine, but generally I'm seeing all high street brands embracing Christmas fashion right now, and with a little over 50 days to the big day, it is time to start thinking about any events you have coming up, and what to wear to avoid those last minute sartorial dilemmas.
While getting 'Christmas-ready used to revolve heavily around twinkly dresses, I've definitely seen a shift towards more smart-casual silhouettes and a huge increase in trouser options, especially those that echo our favourite jeans, like barrel, wide and balloon legs. This is great news for those that prefer separates and trousers, and means you can often get greater versatility from your festive buy.
With lots of cost-effective buys, while there is a healthy dose of sparkle at M&S new-in, I don't feel like anything is overly sparkly, meaning you can certainly wear a lot of these pieces from AM to PM and can dress them up or down, making them even better investments for seasons to come.
