The Flattering Trend That Catherine, Susanna Reid And Ruth Langsford All Love

This summer, pink, in almost every shade, is right on trend. But there’s one tone in particular that everyone from royalty to TV stars are opting to wear to high profile events: bright pink.

Recently we’ve noticed The Duchess of Cambridge, Ruth Langsford and Susanna Reid all wearing the colour, to name but a few fans. It was all over the spring / summer catwalks with designers like Hermès, Valentino and Balenciaga all sending it down their runways too. And unlike many trends, we can, hand-on-heart, claim this one is actually very flattering and wearable, because the colour reflects lovely warm light onto your face, giving the appearance of a youthful glow.

The Duchess of Cambridge was an early adopter of the trend, turning heads in a bright pink Alexander McQueen outfit for the Queen’s Official 91st Birthday celebration.

Though Catherine isn’t the only royal to have opted for bright pink recently. The Queen also wore an all-pink ensemble for Ascot’s Ladies’ Day.

Susanna Reid recently got in on the action too. She’s is no stranger to bold colours and has worn a couple of stunning pink dresses. The first was a fitted two-tone dress from Eden Row. (Eden Row is a relatively new brand which launched in 2013, but now has over 120
stockists worldwide).

The dress has a statement band of red and black across the middle, which makes it incredibly flattering. It costs £145 so is more expensive that other high street options, but worth considering if you’re looking for a special piece of occasion wear.

The second pink dress Susannah chose was much more affordable, costing a a very reasonable £55. It’s a ruffle cold shoulder dress from Oasis, which ticks off two trend boxes: pink and frills!

Susanna paired this dress with a light pink hat from Laylaleigh Millinery. She might not have had much luck at the races, but she certainly won in the Ascot fashion stakes!

The Good Morning Britain presenter has also previously sported a pink flippy dress from Warehouse that costs just £39! So it’s safe to say that Susanna is a big fan of this trend. But she’s definitely not the only one dabbling with the daring hue.

Loose Women panelist and regular This Morning presenter, Ruth Langsford has also hopped on board the pink train. She recently wore a bold pink dress with with flared sleeves.

And just last week Andrea Mclean wore a cheery bright pink sleeveless top.

Stacey Soloman has a lovely bright pink dress with cape style sleeves and a tie detail around the waist too. The dress is an online exclusive from River Island and only costs £45!

So as you can see it really is a huge trend this summer. We’ve rounded up the best pink dresses currently online.
