While the sporting world's attention turns to Wimbledon 2015, we're wondering who the women supporting their men are. See our guide to this year's Wimbledon WAGS!
The 2015 Wimbledon tennis tournament is almost here. While the rest of us scramble to get hold of some coveted Wimbledon tickets, there’s a lucky group of ladies who won’t have to worry about such things.
The WAGs of Wimbledon 2015 will arrive in town on Monday to cheer on their men in the grand slam championship. In celebration of their arrival, we bring you our pick of tennis’ most glamorous wives and girlfriends.
From Roger Federer to Andy Murray, every great tennis player has a lovely lady supporting him from the Centre Court box. We think it’s high time they got some recognition, if only for wave of glamour they bring to the sidelines…
Wife of: Roger Federer
This former tennis pro can always be found cheering on her 17-time Grand Slam-winning husband, Roger Federer, from the sidelines. But this year things might be different: Mirka gave birth to her second set of twins (the couple now have a set of girl and boy twins!) Roger and Mirka met at the 2000 Olympics, and Mirka now works as his PR manager. Roger famously said as long as he wakes up next to this woman every morning nothing else matters. Ahhhh…
Wife of: Novak Djokovic
The glamorous Jelena grew up with Novak Djokovic in Belgrade, before meeting at the Sport High School. They’ve supported each other through thick and thin, particularly when Djokovic was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2011. In April this year, Jelena and Novak announced they are expecting their first child together.
Wife of: Andy Murray
With those piercing blue eyes and pretty blonde hair, it’s no surprise Sussex born Kim attracted the attention of Andy Murray at a party in 2006. Despite a brief split in 2009, the talented artist can always be found supporting her man at Wimbledon. The sweethearts of British tennis currently share a £5 million, six-bedroom home in Oxshott, Surrey.
Girlfriend of: Rafa Nadal
Rafa Nadal and his childhood sweetheart, Maria, grew up in the same village of Manacor, on the holiday island of Mallorca. Maria, also known as Xisca by friends and family, is not your usual WAG. Preferring to shun the limelight, Maria has been described as a ‘no-nonsense girl not interested in glamour or fame’.
Wife of: Andy Roddick
As well as being Andy Roddick’s other half, Brooklyn Decker is a Hollywood movie star in her own right. She’s starred alongside Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in 2012’s ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’. But she first came to Roddick’s attention in 2006 when she appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Girlfriend of: David Ferrer
David Ferrer’s coach fixed him up with the gorgeous Marta. Ever since love has blossomed between the world number 7 and the optometry graduate who works in her family’s opticians during the week.
Wife of: Janko Tipsarevic
Former TV presenter and yacht model, Biljana, married the Serbian tennis player in 2010. With her long, blonde locks and impeccable dress sense, Biljana is sure to turn a few heads at the Wimbledon Championships this year.
Wife of: Tommy Haas
Sara currently stars in HBO’s hugely successful television show, 90210. But before she became a famous actress, she was loyal girlfriend to German tennis player, Tommy Haas.
Wife of: Lleyton Hewitt
In spite of Lleyton Hewitt’s struggling tennis career, his devoted wife, Bec, continues to jet across the globe for him. The Australian actress will be at Wimbledon this summer to support her husband as he fights to improve on his number 48 ranking.
After starring in Home and Away in the late 80s (remember her playing Hayley?), Bec embarked on an unsuccessful pop career in the 90s.
Fiance of: Tomas Berdych
The world number 6 tennis player, Tomas Berdych began dating 22-year-old Ester in 2011 shortly after breaking off his long term relationship with fellow tennis star, Lucie Safarova. The statuesque model also hails from Czechoslovakia.
