The Queen has shared a throwback snap that showcases her “wonderful” 70s accessory and it’s got fans feeling nostalgic as they were taken on a trip down memory lane.

The Queen has reigned for a staggering 70 years and as she and the extended Royal Family prepare to celebrate this milestone over June’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 bank holiday, fans have been given an extra treat. Posting insightful pictures on the Royal Family social media accounts, the Queen is sharing a throwback snap every day for the 70 days leading up to the Jubilee weekend. Already the Queen’s “monumental” photograph taken during a devastating year got quite the reaction from fans.

Though the Queen’s latest throwback snap has taken them on a nostalgic journey into the past as the 1970s photo features a particularly eye-catching accessory…

The Royal Family account declared, “👑 𝟏𝟗𝟕𝟐: The Queen is pictured during a visit to the Isle of Man. Her Majesty is known as the ‘Lord of Mann’ on the Island”.

They also unveiled the global fact from that year, as we’ve seen with previous posts, as they added, “🌍 In 1972, five White House operatives were arrested for breaking into the offices of the Democratic National Committee, marking the start of the Watergate Scandal.”

But it was the Queen’s outfit for this important Isle of Man visit that really caught people’s attention. Flower power seemed to have been the theme when it came to Her Majesty’s visit to the Isle of Man in 1972.

Beaming in a bright green coat, complete with white piping around the scalloped collar, the Queen kept things classic when it came to her jewelry, opting for a string of pearls and a stunning pearl and diamond brooch.

But she certainly went all-out modern when it came to her hat! The bucket-hat style headpiece features row upon row of white flowers and petals that is believed to have been crafted by Milliner Simone Mirman. And this 70s design soon got fans reminiscing about years past.

“I L🌸VE this hat.......very 70ties”, one person declared admiringly.

Whilst another agreed, reflecting, “My mum had a hat like that, wore it at my christening.... she absolutely loved it 😍 Long live the Queen! And that hat is wonderful!”

“My Mum had that hat 👒”, someone else added excitedly.

A fourth remarked, “Always love her hats”, as someone else echoed this sentiment, writing simply, “The hat 🔥🔥”.

The Queen’s throwback snap comes as she prepares to enjoy the Easter bank holiday weekend ahead of her 96th birthday on April 21st. The Queen’s Easter gift tradition usually sees her participate in a generous gift-giving ceremony on Maundy Thursday. Though unfortunately for eager royal fans, this year the Queen is to be replaced by Prince Charles at the Maundy Thursday church service.

Instead, the Prince of Wales will step in, marking the first time he has done so for the Queen on this important occasion.
