Her Majesty the Queen has made her first public appearance since the coronavirus crisis began as she relaxes during a horse ride at her Windsor Home.

In a rare move by the Royal Family, pictures of the Queen relaxing at home have been released.

In the new pictures, the 94-year-old monarch can be seen enjoying a horse ride as she appears in good health - despite the coronavirus crisis.

The images were shared via the Royal Family's official Twitter account, alongside some details of her Majesty's love of horses.

It read, "The Queen is pictured riding Fern - a 14 year old Fell Pony - in Windsor Home Park this weekend.

"Her Majesty has enjoyed riding since childhood and is closely involved with the welfare of the horses she owns for breeding, riding and racing."

The Queen was dressed in full equestrian attire for the ride, with a bright pink head-scarf to add a pop of colour.

It comes just weeks after it was revealed that the Queen is said to be "making the most of lockdown" by enjoying the rare downtime with her husband, Prince Philip, 98, and enjoying daily horse rides.

According to Vanity Fair, an insider has revealed that the Queen is in high spirits, despite the fear surrounding the deadly virus and is “making the most of the time” in lockdown by “riding out every day”.

The insider said, “One of the nicest things for the Queen is that she is getting to spend more time with her husband than she usually would. They have dinner together in the evenings and I imagine the Queen is of the generation where she dresses for dinner.”

While Her Majesty is following the government’s advice to self-isolate as her age puts her in the “vulnerable” category, the Queen is said to be keen to get back to work whenever it is safe to do so.

“The Queen is planning to come back to work and when she does I think we’ll see her work harder than ever,” the source revealed. “I think we will see her doing private audiences again and more of the work we are used to seeing her do in public at some point in the future.”
