Princess Eugenie took to Instagram to share a sweet message about the Queen's Christmas speech - quoting the parts she liked the most.

·   The granddaughter of the Queen shared a picture of her royal grandmother
and shared the quotes she connected with.

·   The Princess went on to say that she was proud of her 'granny' and that her
    'words meant so much'.

·   In other royal news, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have given a
generous charity gift - in Archie's name.

Princess Eugenie shared the picture of the Queen and the sweet message on her official Instagram page on Christmas day.

She wrote: "our Majesty, Granny, your words meant so much today and at the end of a year that has tested the world in so many ways. "

The royal went on to share some 'moments that touched her' during the speech including: "In the United Kingdom and around the world, people have risen magnificently to the challenges of the year, and I am so proud and moved by this quiet, indomitable spirit".

The Queen's speech, which was shown at 3pm on Christmas day, reflected on a tough 2020 due to the pandemic and finished with NHS workers singing in a choir. Eugenie, who is pregnant with her first child, wrote how 'inspiring' her granny's speech was and thanked her for 'leading the way as always'.

Over 130,000 fans agreed with her comments and liked her post, along with commenting themselves. One fan wrote: "I’m in the US, but look forward to her address every year. Beautifully said this year and a message of hope for us all."

It is thought that Eugenie spent Christmas day at home with her husband Jack Brooksbank. The couple, who moved back to Ivy Cottage in Kensington earlier this month, are expecting their first baby early in 2021.
