Prince Harry has made a solo trip to Africa to co-host a wildlife conservation tour, it has been confirmed.

Prince Harry traveled to Africa this week as part of a wildlife conservation project, a Sussex spokesperson has confirmed.

The Duke of Sussex landed in Mozambique on Wednesday to begin a three-day-long visit, having reportedly taken a connecting flight from Johannesburg. The 37-year-old is there in his role as President of African Parks, a title he has held since 2017.

During his stay in the East African nation, he will be "welcoming and co-hosting a group of US officials, conservationists, and philanthropists" on a tour of "protected wildlife and nature areas." The important trip comes shortly after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their surprise visit to the UK and Germany next month.

Sightings of the Duke in the seaside town of Vilanculos have since circulated on social media, but no official images from the tour have been released.

Royal correspondent Omid Scobie confirmed the news on Twitter, who said that Harry is co-hosting multiple US officials including "a delegation of congressmen led by Senator @ChrisCoons. They learned about conservation efforts at the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park—the first marine reserve to fall under ' management."

Prince Harry last visited Mozambique in June 2010, when he toured a British landmine clearance charity and met with locals who had been injured by the mines. That same month, he joined Prince William for the royal brothers' first-ever joint overseas trip. The princes spent six days in Africa, visiting Botswana and Lesotho before finishing off their tour in South Africa.

The Duke of Sussex has never been shy about his relationship with Africa, having inherited his love of the vast continent from his late mother, Princess Diana. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in July, Harry even revealed Africa to be the romantic spot he ‘found a soulmate’ in Meghan Markle. While he didn't go into further details, it's understood he was referring to the idyllic holiday he and the Duchess of Sussex shared in Botswana together back in the summer of 2016.
