The adorable nickname Prince George’s classmates have given him

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's children are already no strangers to the spotlight; having grown up largely in the public eye.

But despite this, the family's home life in London is actually much more normal than you might think. Prince George attends South London school Thomas’s Battersea, and the five-year-old is almost halfway through Year 1.

And the young Prince seems to have fit in perfectly at Thomas’s Battersea, according to one parent speaking to Vanity Fair.

In fact, the third-in-line to the throne has apparently been given a super-sweet nickname by his fellow school pals.

The parent said, "George is really happy at school, his nickname is P.G. He’s very popular and has lots of friends, and there’s very little fuss made about who he is.”

We can’t believe how lovely and informal that nickname is - presumably, a hint at his official title, Prince George.

It seems the royal couple themselves have made a good impression too, particularly Prince William. The parent went on to say: “Either William or Kate do drop off, and they are always very friendly.

"William particularly loves to have a chat with some of the other parents and he works out with some of the mums at the Harbour Club after drop off. He’s very chatty and amiable.”

We can’t quite imagine working out with Prince William, but we can imagine that’s even more terrifying than doing the school run alongside the future King...

Prince George's school is co-ed, meaning the young royal is able to interact with both girls and boys on a regular basis, a decision that was firmly backed by both the Duke and Duchess before enrolling him. Despite the fact they both attended same-sex schools when they were children, many royal fans have praised their decision to choose Thomas’s Battersea.

The prestigious school costs £6,000 per term, and students are given a wide and diverse education. Reports indicate that pupils are taught stimulating activities such as fencing, philosophy, gardening, and pottery.

It's thought that Princess Charlotte is set to join her brother at the same school in May, after spending the last few years at Willcocks Nursery, just down the road from the family's Kensington Palace home.
