Kate Middleton places ‘duty before self’ as she prioritises the Queen this Christmas
Kate Middleton and Prince William are to place the Queen first as the family prepare to break tradition and prioritize the Queen
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William will forgo their Christmas plans in order to spend more time with the Queen and prioritize their royal duties.
- A royal expert has revealed that Kate Middleton has changed her Christmas plans in order to suit Her Majesty the Queen.
- The royals will be spending a lot of time with Prince William's side of the family and forgoing an extended visit to the Middleton family home.
- In other royal news, how Princess Charlotte's kitchen dancing breaks Queen's tradition.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will break their royal Christmas tradition and celebrate Christmas at Sandringham House then celebrate at a later date with the Middletons. Royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed to OK! that Kate puts her duty as a senior member of the royal family first, even when it comes to Christmas and spending time with her parents.
"In the early years of being a family, they did try to alternate Christmas, one year with The Queen and the Royal Family and the next year with the Middletons, but Kate and William put duty before self and we can see that, more now than ever,” said Katie.
"So there is a sacrifice on Kate's part because Christmas is a very big thing for the Middleton family, but they put The Queen first and make sure they are there on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Sandringham.”
The expert continued, "But, it's probably a lot of fun for the Cambridge children that they get to celebrate Christmas twice - once with their great-grandmother and the Royal Family and then again with the Middletons at their Bucklebury home."
Katie then revealed that like many children this Christmas, George, and Charlotte will be asking Father Christmas for gadgets and toys as the young royals are quite 'tech-savvy.'
"George enjoys his iPad at school, both he and Charlotte are quite tech-savvy and, like most children, there probably are technical gadgets and such like on their wish list."

"I'm sure they're not going to want for anything, but when it comes to technology and screens, they are careful not to spoil them with extravagant gifting," said Katie.
"If it is something that happens to be a computer game or something like that then they are cautious of screen time so it could be a more practical gift," said the expert who suggested that binoculars have been welcomed gifts in previous years.
It has been reported that Kate Middleton and Prince William have sent Christmas gifts overseas to Archie and Lilibet as a sweet gesture towards their nieces and nephews.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will remain in California this Christmas instead of returning to the UK to spend Christmas with the royal family. Royal experts suggest that Prince Harry will ‘regret’ burning his bridges with his family this Christmas.
