Duchess of Cambridge plans the sweetest surprise for Prince Louis’ lockdown birthday

The Duchess of Cambridge is going to great lengths to ensure that son Louis has a wonderful second birthday

• A royal expert has revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge will still be throwing her son a big birthday bash.
• Catherine will ensure little Louis will still see his grandparents on the big day.
• This followsroyal newsthatthe Cambridges sent an important coronavirus message to the public over Easter.

Devoted mum Catherine isn’t one to let a birthday pass without marking the occasion. But things are going to be considerably more difficult this year, considering that we’re all facing a nationwide lockdown - and it’s not clear when things are going to return to normal.

Prince Louis turns two on 23 April, but with the nation currently in self-isolation by government order, any former plans for a big celebration will have to have been put on hold.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine,“Kate won’t let any birthday pass without a celebration. So even though the family are in self-isolation, she’ll make sure Louis enjoys his day.

"She tends to organise fairly low-key parties for the children. Usually Kate’s parents Carole and Michael are there, along with her sister Pippa and their brother James.

"This year will be quieter, of course, but there will be presents that Kate has bought online, as well as a tea party. And if the weather’s nice, they’re sure to be out in the gardens.

""Kate loves baking and she’ll stay up late making Louis’ birthday cake if need be.

“Even if Louis hasn’t got the wider family there on his birthday, he won’t miss out on any fun."

She continued to comment that Catherine will incorporate some arts and crafts - and maybe a spot of gardening - into the day, moving the children away from too much screen time, which could be damaging for their physical and mental health.

She continued: “The emphasis during this time will be on arts and crafts, painting and doing things that aren’t screen-orientated. Kate is usually very strict on screen time and keeps it to a minimum.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are isolating with their children in Norfolk Estate Anmer Hall. It’s located just 2 miles away from theQueen’s Sandringham residence, and is an impressive country estate.

Anmer Hall is a Georgian Manor House built in 1802, which reportedly has 10 bedrooms, as well as a swimming pool and a tennis court.The royals continue to work and support their patronages from home, using phone and video calls.

And will the extended family be making an appearance on Louis’ special day. Royal expert Kate seems to think so!

"The whole family, including Louis’ grandfather Prince Charles, are communicating via Zoom and Skype, so although they’re all isolating, they haven’t felt isolated."
