Duchess Camilla stuns in scarlet alongside Prince Charles as they ‘embrace’ Chinatown celebration
Duchess Camilla’s red outfit wowed the crowds as she embraced the Lunar New Year.
Duchess Camilla stepped out in stunning scarlet alongside Prince Charles for their latest royal outing in Chinatown and fans were delighted to see the couple “embrace” the celebrations.
- The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall celebrated the Lunar New Year in Chinatown during their latest royal engagements.
- Duchess Camilla opted for a red dress and was draped in a scarf in the same lucky color—something that didn’t go unnoticed by fans.
- This royal news comes as it’s revealed Prince William and Kate Middleton's first Valentine's Day as a married couple was tinged with sadness.
Duchess Camilla and Prince Charles might not be the hardest-working royal of last year according to new research, but the couple have been taking an even more prominent role in recent months. From their overseas trip to Kate Middleton’s childhood home to the COP26 summit, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince of Wales are no strangers to undertaking significant engagements. Their latest took place a little closer to home as the couple traveled from Clarence House to London’s Chinatown to celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year.
Duchess Camilla stunned in scarlet for this important occasion, opting for a beautiful red Fiona Clare dress, paired with a chic black cape-style jacket. Not only that, but both she and Prince Charles were draped in red scarves soon after their arrival, with the color traditionally symbolizing good fortune.
After being given a wonderful greeting with dancing lions and music, they then went on to turn their hand to calligraphy before things took a more poignant turn. Attending a meeting with members of the local community and police representatives, the Prince of Wales learnt more about the devastating impact of hate crime directed towards the Chinese and East and South-East Asian Communities and what is being done to combat this.
Whilst Duchess Camilla spoke with staff and volunteers at the Chinese Information and Advice Centre, which provides free legal advice and advocacy to those who are disadvantaged in the UK Chinese community. And the couple’s focus on not only marking Chinese New Year 2022 but also learning more about what the local community has been facing hasn’t gone unnoticed.
