The Crown's Emma Corrin loved playing Diana - but is excited to 'move on' to new roles
She only plays the princess in one series of the Netflix show

She depicted the role of Princess Diana in the popular TV show The Crown impeccably - getting the voice, mannerisms and personality just right.
However, the actress who played her, Emma Corrin, has said that she looks forward to 'moving on' from that role, after just one series.
The 25-year-old played Princess Diana in the Crown in the fourth series, which aired on Netflix last year. The series showed her relationship with Prince Charles and their marriage, up to the age of 28. However, another actress, Widows star Elizabeth Debicki, will take over the role next series.

Talking to the Observer newspaper the star said about leaving the series behind: “I’m looking forward to it."
However, she also went on to say: “Though I’m sad I only did one series, I always knew that was all I was signing on for, and I played her from 16 to 28. I took her from girl to woman, and I loved that arc. But I’m also quite pleased to move on."
While she went on to admit that it will be good for her career to move on: “The industry loves to pigeonhole. The sooner I can move away from doing posh English, the better, even though that’s what I am.”

Series four of The Crown depicts her relationship with Prince Charles and the controversies around it - including how Prince Charles had an affair with Camilla.
In the interview, Emma also says she 'understands' why many were asking for 'health warnings' to be added to the show - as some viewers can't tell the difference between fact and fiction.
The actress, who has also starred in British film Misbehaviour, told the newspaper that it was Princess Diana's voice that she perfected first, while it took much longer to get used to the roller skates she had to wear in one of the scenes.
Series five of the Crown is said to be hitting Netflix in June this year - we can't wait!
