COVID-19 left us all in lockdown, and while we were feeling isolated and bored, it gave us the opportunity to start a new hobby. For actress Taraji P. Henson, she used this as an opportunity to practice her favorite hobby: hair styling.

Taraji has been labeled as a "hair chameleon" and is known for switching up her looks often (she's also a self-proclaimed hair cosmetologist, according to InStyle).

So basically, if you're looking for the best hair care products like shampoo and conditioner or a quality blow dryer, she's your go-to gal.

During the lockdown, she even built a beauty salon in her home to give herself a designated space to pass the time and practice hair care. In her words, "hair care is self-care."

"I recently created a salon at home," she told InStyle. "Since I was trapped inside, I needed my own little world...I just bought a cash register. Don't ask me why - it makes me feel good."

Besides wowing us as Cookie in the drama series Empire, the actress took her passion for hair and turned it into a business. Now, she has a hair care line called TPH by Taraji, which she says "lines the walls" of her in-home salon.

You can even find her giving hair tutorials on her personal Instagram account. It's there she explains how to achieve some of her signature looks. In one of her more recent posts, she walked viewers through how to put on a weave (with one she dyed herself).

"HAIR CARE IS SELF-CARE, PERIOD," she captioned the post.

Viewers then get a peek at Taraji in her natural element, joking around and gushing over her hair care routine.

"I really like this haircut," she said about her short hot pink locks.

First, she says you need to prepare your scalp beforehand using a scalp scrub (she recommends wetting your hair beforehand). Next, she explains you need to hydrate your scalp with a nice nourishing hair wash (don't forget to condition afterward). This all helps prep the hair for installation. Once you're all set with that, the actress puts on a protecting mask and then installs her weave.

Tutorials like this and more are what Taraji is passionate about, so if you're ever in need of some hair care tips, check out her social media for free tips and tricks.
