Melania Trump celebrated Valentine’s Day this year with a gesture of love rather than romance, sending a heartfelt message to sick kids close to her heart.

The former First Lady shared her well-wishes to the patients of a Maryland children’s hospital, where she previously made three visits during her husband’s presidency.

“On this Valentine’s Day, I think of the brave and inspirational children at the Children’s Inn NIH where I visited the past few years. Sending them love and strength, today and everyday," she wrote on her brand new Twitter account.

Melania accompanied the post with three photos of her interacting with the children - one to mark each of her appearances, which all took place on February 14.

During these trips, she spent quality time with patients with life-threatening illnesses, participating in Valentine’s Day-themed activities, including cookie-decorating and arts and crafts. She also exchanged cards with the young children and helped to create heart wreaths for their families.

Although she is no longer in office, the one-term FLOTUS seems determined to express her ongoing passion for vulnerable children. Melania activated her new Twitter account on February 12, which will document all news regarding her upcoming initiatives.

One of these projects is her ‘Be Best’ campaign, which was first launched in 2017 to combat cyberbullying and opioid use in minors. While Melania is no longer a White House official, she reportedly intends to keep the campaign’s original staff for its revival.

The absence of Donald Trump’s name in the post did not go unnoticed, further fueling speculation of frosty relations in their 15-year marriage. The couple is currently living together at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, but they have been plagued by divorce rumors for the past several months. Sources have said that Melania is ‘bitter and chilly’ towards her husband, and spends little time with him at his $10 million property.
