Demi Lovato has publicly spoken about her issues with eating disorders in the past. In an interview on The Ellen Show in 2020, Demi stated, “I lived a life for the past six years, that I feel wasn’t my own, because I struggled really badly with an eating disorder and that was my primary problem and then that turned into other things.”
She revealed to Ellen that she had an incredibly restrictive diet during that period. “For many years, I didn’t even have a birthday cake,” she said.
The star spoke about her recovery from eating disorders on Christmas Day in 2020. The star posted an image of her stretch marks covered in glitter and stated, “I’m so grateful that I can honestly say for the first time in my life - my dietitian looked at me and said, “This is what eating disorder recovery looks like.”'
In just over two weeks (on March 23rd, to be exact), Demi will be releasing a new documentary that dives into her issues that she has recovered from in recent years.
The documentary “Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil” will be available on YouTube on Tuesday, 23rd March 2021. Demi said about the project, “There has been so much that I’ve wanted to say, but knew I had to say it right.”
