What’s so special about Ted Baker coats?
If you’re a fan of the brand, you’ll be able to spot a Ted Baker coat a mile off. Not sure what the giveaway signs are? With Ted Baker, it’s all about modern simple cuts, luxe fabrics (expect shine and silk to make an appearance alongside practical wool and polyester), gold-plated detailing and their signature romantic florals.
The colour palette is mainly a neutral mix of black, mink and grey, with pops of pink peppered throughout.
Not one to jump on the trend bandwagon, Ted Baker sticks to classic shapes and styles that won’t feel dated by next winter.
How much do Ted Baker coats cost?
Sitting at the pricier end of the high street, Ted Baker coats start at £119 for a padded jacket and rise to £329 for a classic calf-length wrap coat. Leather bikers and jackets are around the £300 mark, too.
How sustainable are Ted Baker coats?
Understanding that the shift towards slower, more considered shopping is far from a flash-in-the-pan trend, Ted Baker has set out a long list of targets to help reduce their environmental impact.
As part of their plan to ensure 100% of their collection is made from more sustainable fabrics by 2030, they have identified their most commonly used materials and started searching for more planet-friendly alternatives.
So, what does that mean for their coats?
Ted Baker has set their sights on only sourcing leather from tanneries that have been certified by the Leather Working Group by 2025. They ensure not only full traceability of the hides they use, but decreased chemical and water usage as part of the tanning process.
Recycled polyester will be used instead of virgin polyester in linings and padded coats, with all wool either certified organic (meaning the sheep it’s sheared from are well looked after) or recycled to help minimise industry waste.
Which Ted Baker coats are best?
Winter coat shopping is highly personal, but these three styles are pretty universally crowd-pleasing:
Rose Wool Wrap Coat
If you’re the type of person who always manages to leave your scarf in the pub, a funnel-neck coat is the all-in-one styling solution for you. This one is a beauty, crafted from a strokable wool and cashmere blend to keep you snug without adding unnecessary bulk to your frame. Gold tabs across the belt and neckline add a little extra glamour.
Sameerr Drawstring Mac Coat
Helping you go about your day prepared for all weathers, the Sameerr mac boasts a water-repellent fabric and toggled hood to keep you warm and dry. The midi length means it’ll work for all heights, while the drawstring detail at the waist works to create a flattering, feminine shape. Layering never looked so good.
Renika Packaway Padded Jacket
Staying both snug and stylish can feel like a challenge at times, but the Renika jacket manages to combine them both in one neat package. Great for travel or days out, this lightweight puffer easily folds into a drawstring bag when you’re not wearing it. It ticks a lot of boxes for those trying to make more planet-conscious fashion choices, too – the jacket, filling and bag are all made from recycled polyester. Available in five shades, from classic black and white to colour-pop fuchsia, there’s something to suit all styles.
Are Ted Baker coats true to size?
Sizing you can trust, you can expect your normal size to fit like a glove in Ted Baker coats. Instead of the traditional sizing system, Ted Baker uses their own, ranging from a 0 through to a 6. They’re equivalent to a UK 6-18 and their online sizing chart is relatively easy to navigate if you’re in any doubt about which size to choose.
How easy are Ted Baker coats to care for?
How best to care for your Ted Baker coat depends on the fabric it’s made from. Check the care label of your new purchase for precise instructions, but as a general rule, padded jackets and macs can be popped in the machine on a cool, delicate cycle, wool coats will need to be professionally dry cleaned and leather jackets are best not washed at all.
Does Ted Baker offer easy returns?
A worthwhile wardrobe investment, a Ted Baker coat will add a splash of glamour to your winter look.
