First Impressions
Mollie is Boux Avenue’s best-selling bra, with one flying off (both the physical and digital) shelves every 10 minutes. It replaced their previously popular Chloe bra, which was a very similar shape. So far, the Mollie has more than 500 five-star reviews.
With this in mind, it’s safe to say I was pretty excited to receive mine.
My initial thoughts were positive – the lace isn’t incredible quality, but good for the price, and soft, not scratchy. Size-wise, it looked similar to my other bras.

Despite having a relatively small bust, it’s been a while since I tried a bra with this much padding – and it took a little bit of getting used to.
Each cup has a removable, tear-shaped piece of padding tucked diagonally across its edge, crafted from two layers of light, springy and spongy foam. This, teamed with the bra’s plunge shape and built-in padding, made for impressive cleavage and a considerable boost in the overall size of my bust.
Having said that, my boobs still felt very well contained (I’ve tested similar bras and found I was spilling out over the sides) and the Mollie bra created nice, smooth lines under tops.
How supportive is the Boux Avenue Mollie Lace Plunge Bra?
Thanks to the soft lace and fully adjustable straps, it’s both comfortable and supportive, features that have no doubt helped make it Boux Avenue’s best-selling bra for bust sizes DD+.
When I took the removable padding out, I found the bra gaped slightly on the cups, but this was easy to fix by tightening the shoulder straps. The fact the padding is removable would come in really handy if you had uneven boobs (and most of us do!), as you could keep the padding in on one side and take it out on the other.
What is the shape and appearance like?
As the name suggests, this is a plunge bra – characterised by the angled, cut-away cups that push your boobs towards each other. A popular choice for everyday wear, the wiring doesn’t come up too far in the centre, reducing the chance of them digging in.
The Mollie Lace Plunge bra is currently available in classic black and white, alongside a selection of colour-pop options, from pretty pastels through to bold brights.
What are the washing instructions?
Similarly to jeans, you don’t need to wash your bras (opens in new tab) every time you wear them. In fact, too much washing can cause the elastic to weaken and the padding to distort, shortening the lifespan of your new favourite bra.
Unless you have a stain to contend with or had a particularly active day, aim to wash your Boux Avenue Mollie Lace Plunge Bra after every third wear. Experts recommend hand washing your bras, but if you’re short on time, this can be popped on a gentle wash at a maximum of 40°.
It’s not suitable for ironing or tumble drying, so after you’ve reshaped the cups, leave on a flat surface to air dry.
Is the Boux Avenue Mollie Lace Plunge bra good value?
For an everyday bra, this offers really good value for money. The removable padding up to a size DD will not only appeal to anyone wanting to increase their cup size, but offers a choice of two different looks in one bra.
Is the Boux Avenue Mollie Lace Plunge bra true to size?
The only downside to the Boux Avenue Mollie Lace Plunge Bra is it does come up very small across the band – something that plenty of reviewers have mentioned on the Boux website, too. I’d recommend sizing up by one size if you’re confident in your usual bra size, or by two if you’re normally in between sizes anyway.
What else is in the Boux Avenue Mollie range?
Complete your set with a matching pair of Mollie briefs. Crafted from the same soft lace, a thong will reduce the risk of a VPL, while shorts styles offer more coverage.
